From Jamestowne and Williamsburg to plantations, elegant churches, civil war battlefields and maritime attractions, no other location in America is home to as rich a heritage as Tidewater Virginia.
The Tidewater Virginia Historical Society (TVHS) – successor to the 125 year old Colonial Capital Branch – Preservation Virginia – was formed to promote and advocate for the Tidewater region’s unique history.
Through partnerships with historic sites, societies and museums in the region, the TVHS has a new historic advocacy role. The society will host stimulating presentations by renowned guest lecturers and organize thematic excursions to both well know sites and lesser known private gems not usually open to the public.
It’s easy to become a member of TVHS. Just decide what level you want to join, mail a check and attend our programs.
