cordially invite you to participate in a fun evening of 17th & 18th-century history,
a Blessing, organ recital, first-person interpreters, English Country
Dancing, a Balladeer, and 17th & 18th-century refreshments.
Imagine you just read a Broadside (such as above) seeking adventurers to sail to the New World, Middle Plantation, Virginia. Are you going to risk your savings and home to cross the Atlantic Ocean on the Ship Deliverance?
Your evening Experience begins before your ship departs. At Bruton Parish Church (4:00 pm) you will meet the Ship’s Captain, receive a brief blessing, and enjoy a recital on the new Dobson Organ played by renowned organist Rebecca Davy.
From church, your Journey continues as you walk down Duke of Gloucester, as if you have just disembarked from your long voyage and you are glad you made it.
As you enter Bruton Parish Hall pretend you have Disembarked at Middle Plantation. Meet the Ship’s Captain, the Preacher’s Wife, and first-person interpreters. Join the English Country Dancing and enjoy the Balladeer 17th & 18th-century savories and sweets will be offered with assorted beverages
To book passage you will pay in advance (RSVP before Feb 5th)
Your Ship’s Boarding Pass is required for entry.
